A mysterious shipwreck. A windsurfing accident. Is a modern-day sea monster stalking the waves?

Before Key West was the party capital of the Florida Keys, it was built by wrecking skippers who in feats of derring-do raced to shipwrecks to save their cargos from the ocean depths. But when her dear friend Nestor Frias runs a billionaire's luxury power yacht on up on a reef on its maiden voyage, Seychelle begins to suspect a chilling scenario that modern-day wreckers are causing yachts to crash onto the reefs-and killing off whoever gets in the way.

Seychelle embarks on a dangerous course through the shoals and channels of the case and her life, unaware that a greater danger is looming a murderous human storm designed perfectly for her.

With its colorful characters and rich sense of sea and land, Wreckers' Key is the fourth book in Christine Kling's series of nautical thrillers.

If you love tough-minded heroines, tales of the Florida Keys, and heart-pounding high seas action, download Wreckers' Key and get ready for a wild ride.

What readers are saying

"Not only was this book so well written that I inhaled it in one day, the author writes in such a way as to "grab" the reader right off at the beginning."

"Christine Kling knows how to bring her characters to life. I feel their hurt, their emotions, their needs as if they were living breathing people. In fact, I think I have a small crush on Saychelle."

"Hang on to your life preserver because Seychelle has her hands full all the way to the end."

"If you like the ocean, Florida and its Keys, and a mystery...you' ll enjoy this book!"

"Another fast-paced and satisfying novel set in Florida and the islands, once again evoking that sense of a world that is passing - the colourful, slightly dodgy lives of those who live and work on the water."

"Capt. Sullivan is nearly nabbed as she sleuths her way through this amazing mystery. Loaded with stops and starts; bobs and weaves; this is exciting and even amusing in spots. It's a great read! Try it."

This four book series by Christine Kling has a lot going for it.. The characters are interesting and well developed. The action is logical and moves well. The reader will get the most by reading the entire four book series in order - "Surface Tension," "Cross Current," Bitter End," and "Wreckers Key," Now, what I liked most about the series is something I value in anything I read - "believability." I know Florida, I know boats, both power and sail. Ms. Kling does as well and when she refers to an Irwin 54, that's a real boat and when she talks about boating, seamanship, and boats and boat handling she has got it right and, for me, that draws me into the story. If inaccuracies put you off, you can read this series in comfort. My impression is that this is "it" for these characters and the series. That is probably a good thing. There is nothing worse than a TV show or a written series that over stays it's welcome to suck a few more bucks out the readership. I'm moving on to Ms. Kling's next series, "The Shipwreck Adventures." I'm sure I am going to enjoy it.

Wreckers' Key Seychelle Sullivan Book 4 edition by Christine Kling Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

This fourth book in the series is as good as the second and third entries.

Seychelle is drawn into investigating the drowning of a friend who is a world-class windsurfer after the man’s wife insists his death was no accident. She’s also dealing with the reappearance of childhood friend, a fear her lover is a little too interested in best friend, and increasing competition from big companies in the towing business.

Kling tells a straightforward tale with enough twists and misdirection to keep the reader guessing who the guilty party is.

A big event from Seychelle’s past comes out in this book. While it fits well with one of the subplots, it was never hinted at in earlier entries, which made it seem a tad too contrived, as if Kling added it here just to increase the tension.

This novel ended on a note that could signal big changes ahead for Seychelle. I hope Kling brings her back so readers can see if they happen.
Loved, loved, loved this series. And I would like to thank the author for her participation in the Kiindle Unlimited program. I think the heroine here is a truly believable person, with problems we all face. Her life in a male dominated business is one we who have dared to do the same can relate to. I cannot wait to start the Shipwreck series and I will hope for a number 5 in this series.
I found this whole series very entertaining. As a former English teacher, I was particularly happy to see that the author actually took the time to edit her work. So many of the books that I have read recently seem to be unedited and full of grammatical and spelling errors. Too many authors these day seem to be depending on the computer to make corrections, this is obviously not true of Christine Kling. Although the stories are fun, there are times that the lead character almost borders on unrealistic in some of the actions she takes; however, that still does not significantly detract from the overall enjoyment of the stories.
Wrecker's Key was a good read and a well written suspense novel. I am not much of a "boat" person but this novel gave a glimpse into a way of life I had not even imagined. Modern day pirates and expensive ships were being dashed upon dangerous reefs.

I guess it's true what happens to each of us as children last a lifetime. In this book the hurt twisted and mangle a boy into a cruel and vengeful killer.

Seychelle Sullivan is a woman struggling with hurt and pain from her past while trying to carry on a business that was her father's. Her salvage/towing business is a small two person job and she barely scrapes by. Her lover is a new age practitioner trying to become a better person after a colorful past. Puzzled by BJ new focus, Seychelle wonders if the "new" BJ was just a little too touchie-feelie for her.

When Seychelle meets an old school chum she's drawn to the "new" Ben. As a child Ben had been all the things a parent hoped their child would not be....add that to a few family secrets...and well. The adult Ben was no long the short fat kid with braces and thick glasses. He was a real hunk. But it was hard to see Ben and not revisit the past and a few of Seychelle's less admirable past acts.

People important in Seychelle's life begin to die. Not even BJ believes the "weird" things that have been happening in Seychelles life relate to a friend's sudden death. When a second death occurs even the police begin to wonder but not soon enough. In the end, more death and she's left with a damaged relationship with BJ and a new baby to care for.

This book is well written. It was a good read and I look forward to finding a few more books by this author....
This is another very satisfying Seychelle story. Kling continues to flesh out an interesting character in this story. Kling's nautical background and familiarity with South Florida also add a lot of realism to the tale.

In this one Seychelle is drawn into the investigation of the death of a fellow captain, while sail-boarding. His widow is 8-months pregnant and insists that he could never have died the way people are saying he did. As usual, her investigations bring her into danger, as well as those around her. THEre is a huge twist right at the end that no one will see coming.

The usual supporting characters are all here- Jeanie, BJ, so the Seychelle Universe is very familiar in this book. And, as usual Sey goes thru a lot of emotional crap from her past, driven partially by the reappearance of an old school chum, a plot driver KIlng uses perhaps a little too often.

I hope Kling continues this series. If she does, a couple of requests. Toughen Seychelle up a little. I am tired of reading about her getting her ass kicked. Have her take a karate class, or something.

Finally, resolve the BJ romance, one way or another. It's gettng a little boring as it is now. The twist at the end of this book may set the stage for this.

All-in-all, I am with a lot of other folks and waiting for Seychelle 5.
